Stage Door

Stage Door is an all-new, community-enhanced show inspired by the artist’s post-pandemic life on the other side of the stage door featuring performers and non-performers alike. Artistic Director Larry Keigwin and Associate Nicole Wolcott expand upon their acclaimed Places Please (2017) as they explore the universal themes of acceptance, aging, and finding your place in the world through the lens of the audition. Stage Door is full of backstage antics and surprising emotional moments that capture the imagination and magic of the theater.

Stage Door was developed in residence with PEAK Performances at the Alexander Kasser Theater, Montclair State University with generous support from the estate of Robert Kellogg.

Stage Door is an expansion of Places Please (2017), commissioned and originally produced by DANCE NOW at Joe’s Pub for its Commissioned Artist’s Series, and made possible through DANCE NOW’s Silo Artist Residency program. Places Please was also generously supported by DANCEworks in Santa Barbara, CA.
